ATTORNEY GENERAL STRANGE VISITS ISRAEL
AS PART OF FRIENDSHIP LEAGUE DELEGATION

(MONTGOMERY) – Alabama’s Attorney General Luther Strange said he is honored to
be among several Attorneys General to participate in an America-Israel Friendship League
delegation who have been visiting in Israel from May 20 to May 24. The intent of the trip is to
facilitate a better knowledge and understanding of the Israeli government structure and the
historic relationship between the two nations.
“I am deeply honored to represent the
State of Alabama and to be among those
privileged to extend the hand of America’s
friendship to the people of Israel,” said
Attorney General Strange. “Alabama has a
special link to Israel because of our strong
economic development ties, particularly
through our space and defense industries. I am
pleased to be a part of fostering this important
relationship between their people and ours.”
Among the activities of Attorney
General Strange and others in the delegation
Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, Georgia Attorney
were meetings with Israeli President Shimon
General Sam Olens, and Alabama Attorney General
Luther Strange, at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in
Peres, Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein and
Jerusalem.
several other ministers and leading officials of
the government and justice systems to discuss
social, economic and political issues regarding Israel and the Middle East. They also toured the
Israeli Supreme Court and visited various historic and holy sites.
This trip is co-sponsored by the America-Israel Friendship League, the National
Association of Attorneys General and Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Former New York
Attorney General Robert Abrams is chair of the delegations committee of the America-Israeli
Friendship League, and thereby oversees trips to Israel by Americans representing a broad
variety of professions and leadership roles. Abrams said the goal of these missions is “to
strengthen bonds and reinforce the shared values between these two great, vibrant
democracies.”
