ATTORNEY GENERAL STEVE MARSHALL STATEMENT ON BORDEN
STAY OF EXECUTION
(MONTGOMERY) – Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall released the following
comment concerning the stay of execution of Jeffrey Lynn Borden.
“Despite the fact that the U.S. Supreme Court has already agreed to proceed with Mr.
Borden’s execution, the lower federal courts continue to place roadblocks in the victims’
family’s pursuit of justice. Because there is insufficient time to lift the stay before
midnight, we will seek a new execution date as soon as possible,” said Attorney
General Steve Marshall.
