AG STEVE MARSHALL ANNOUNCES ARREST FOR POSSESSION OF CHILD
PORNOGRAPHY DUE TO INVESTIGATION BY AG CYBERCRIME UNIT
(MONTGOMERY)–Attorney General Steve Marshall announced the arrest
on February 8 of a Millbrook man for three counts of possession of child
pornography, due to an investigation by the Attorney General’s Cybercrime Unit.
Michael Patrick Kaylor, 28, was arrested by Special Agents of the Attorney
General’s Cybercrime Unit and officers of the Millbrook Police Department, and
taken to the Elmore County Jail. Bond was set at $10,000 for each of the three
charges.
Specifically, Kaylor is charged in three warrants*, each with one count of
violation of Code of Alabama ß13A-12-192(B) which is “possession of obscene
matter containing visual depiction of persons under 17 years of age involved in
obscene acts.”
No further information about the investigation or about Kaylor’s alleged
crimes may be released at this time.
If convicted, Kaylor faces a maximum penalty of one year and one day to 10
years of imprisonment and a fine of up to $15,000 for each of the three counts of
possession of child pornography, which is a class C felony. In addition, he would be
mandated to comply with the requirements of the Alabama Sex Offender
Registration and Community Notification Act.
*Warrants are merely accusations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
