Attorney General Steve Marshall Announces Arrest for 2004 Murder in Talladega County

(MONTGOMERY)–Attorney General Steve Marshall announced the arrest of Quentin Jabar Estelle for the murder of a Munford man in 2004. Estelle, 34, also of Munford, was arrested by the Talladega County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force on September 10. He was later released on a $50,000 bond.

Attorney General Marshall’s Violent Crimes Division presented evidence to a Talladega County grand jury in December of 2018, resulting in Estelle’s indictment for the murder of John William Hoover Jr. Hoover’s body was found in the early morning of June 22, 2004. He died of multiple gunshot wounds.

No further information about the investigation or about Estelle’s alleged crime other than that stated in the indictment may be released at this time.

If convicted, Estelle faces a maximum penalty of life or not more than 99 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to $60,000 for murder, which is a class A felony.

*An indictment is merely an accusation. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
