Attorney General Steve Marshall Announces Conviction of Former Tannehill State Park Administrator for Felony Ethics Violation
(MONTGOMERY) – Attorney General Steve Marshall announced the conviction
yesterday of a former Tannehill Park Administrator for the Alabama Historic Ironworks Commission, for a felony ethics violation. Stacey Ingram Green pleaded guilty in Tuscaloosa County Circuit Court. She was sentenced to a 60-month term in a community corrections program and was fined $5,000.
Green, 42, of Birmingham, served as Tannehill Park Administrator until 2017. While serving as park administrator, Green wrote more than $10,000 in checks to herself on an account of the Alabama Historic Ironworks Foundation, a charitable arm of the Alabama Historic Ironworks Commission. Green repaid all money she stole from the Foundation prior to her sentencing.
“Stacey Green abused the public trust placed in her to care for the Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park, a natural, historic, and educational treasure providing enjoyment to hundreds of thousands of visitors each year,” said Attorney General Steve Marshall. “It is appropriate that she has been called to account and is being punished for her criminal wrongdoing, and that a message is being sent to others who hold public trust that theft, self-enrichment and corruption will not be tolerated.”
Attorney General Marshall also thanked the prosecutors, investigators and support staff of his Special Prosecutions Division for their successful handling of this case.
