The evidence at trial showed that Hill became convinced his wife had been raped by the victim in this case, Brent Allen, when she was thirteen years old. Hill hired a private investigator to locate the victim and then recruited his uncle to kill the victim. Hill went so far as to provide the hit man with a silencer equipped rifle, ammunition, masks to conceal his identity, and a bullet-proof vest. The hit man shot and killed the victim outside his home in Satsuma, Alabama, on December 6, 2020. Investigators were able to solve the case within ten days of the murder.
Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood’s office successfully prosecuted this case and obtained a guilty verdict. Hill was sentenced to life imprisonment for his conviction without the possibility of parole. Hill sought to have his conviction reversed on appeal.
The Attorney General’s Criminal Appeals Division handled the case during the appeals process, arguing for the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals to affirm Hill’s convictions. The Court did so in a decision issued Friday, September 20, 2024.
Attorney General Marshall commended Assistant Attorney General Christopher D. Howell for his successful work on this case and thanks District Attorney Keith Blackwood and his staff for their valuable assistance in defending the capital murder for hire conviction.
